Teaching has been a dream of mine since high school. Today, I’m a proud adjunct professor at Duquesne University. Here are tips for aspiring professors:
• Build your resume: Most programs require a graduate degree and/or several years of experience. Every school varies, so ask about requirements.
• Ask to be a guest speaker: Professors are always looking for real-world connections.
• Like grad school, plan: While I was in grad school, I shared time management tips, which apply as a professor. Make time to read the textbook, prepare lessons and find creative ways to make class a fun learning process.
