Kick off the summer with these Memorial Day events around town:
• The Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum starts off the holiday with a May 27 ceremony honoring fallen Pennsylvania service members. The day includes free museum tours and family fun with crafts, contests, face painting and a bouncy house, plus food and beverages.
• Pittsburgh’s riverfronts come alive with the country’s best chalk art and live entertainment at the free Chalk Fest from May 25-26.
• The Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium hosts Red, Wild & Blue Day on May 27 with “special enrichment activities” for the animals and a contest to support military members.
