What to do when Pittsburgh traffic drives you nuts

by
traffic jam

It’s one of the few lists Pittsburgh has no interest being on: most congested cities.

In our city of bridges, hills, valleys and inconveniently placed parkway on-ramps, rush-hour relief is hard to find. The INRIX Global Traffic Scorecard ranked Pittsburgh as having the nation’s seventh-worst traffic congestion and calculated drivers spent an average of 127 hours in gridlock last year at a cost of $1,766 per driver.

Some advice from this daily downtown commuter: Download Waze; the navigation app is even better than you’ve heard. For I-376 travelers? Download a book, too. You’ll need it.
