Weeds are a common annoyance. Many of us use weed and grass killers to maintain our lawns.

But homeowners, landscapers and farmers should beware of Roundup, a popular weed-killing brand tied to chronic lymphocytic leukemia, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, brain cancer and other life-threatening diseases because of its main chemical component, glyphosate.

Its manufacturers have defended Roundup as safe to use, but thousands of lawsuits against Bayer and Monsanto and other evidence suggest otherwise.
