Travel season is upon us. According to AAA, nearly 40 million people travel over Memorial Day weekend; 2.3 million will drive the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
Get ready to pay more for your gas here in Pennsylvania, which has the second-highest gas prices in the country, an average of $3.01 a gallon – only California’s are higher. The U.S. average is $2.85. Blame it on state gasoline taxes, plus higher wholesale and retail prices.
If you’re driving this holiday weekend, plan your fuel stops in Ohio, West Virginia or Maryland to save some cash. Or, consider the bus.
