Pittsburgh is active as a Passive House leader

Passive House

Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh’s Carrick branch reopens Oct. 20. While the community is excited for its library to double in size, the building is also notable as the first Passive House-certified library in North America.

While LEED-certified buildings use environmentally friendly materials, Passive House certifications recognize buildings for actual performance, reducing energy use by 75-90%. As a leader in high-performance building design, Pittsburgh is hosting the North American Passive House Network (NAPHN) conference from Oct. 17 to 21.

Want your business or home to be more energy efficient? Check out the public expo for just $10.
