Looking for a little more firepower this month? The Fort Pitt Museum will host a free Artillery and Artificers event as part of its Living History program on June 10.
The event takes place at Point State Park, right outside the Fort Pitt Blockhouse (downtown’s oldest structure) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Artisans including blacksmiths, tinners and turners will demonstrate and explain how their work contributed to the artillery of the time.
History lovers and thrill seekers of all ages are welcome. The timing of cannon-firing sessions will be posted on the Heinz History Center’s Twitter.
