On Jan. 1, 2018, a new Pennsylvania health program begins in 14 southwest counties. Community HealthChoices (CHC) provides mandatory managed care for dual-eligible individuals and individuals with physical disabilities.
CHC aims to serve more people in communities rather than facilities, preserving the opportunity to work, spend time with families, and experience a better quality of life. About 80,000 residents will be covered.
The CHC program joins Pennsylvania’s long-running HealthChoices program. Across Pennsylvania, CHC will provide mandatory managed care for 2.2 million Medical Assistance participants receiving physical and behavioral health services and/or drug and alcohol services.
