Common Flu Shot Myths – Busted

by
man getting a flu shot

There are many misconceptions about flu shots. But now is the time to get one! As a neighborhood medical provider, we’ve heard all the myths before. Here are two of the most common:

• Myth: I can wait to get a shot.

Truth: The vaccine takes two weeks to kick in, so the sooner you get the shot, the better.

• Myth: I don’t need to get vaccinated.

Truth: For healthy people, the flu might just mean a few missed workdays. But getting a shot helps prevent the spread of germs to more vulnerable populations, like children, pregnant women and the elderly.
