Behind the saints and celebrations

There’s something about March in Pittsburgh. Yes, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and fish fries are great, but they speak to something deeper.

It’s our Catholic heritage, the font for St. Patrick and Lent (aka fish fry season). Despite population changes, Pittsburgh still boasts one of the densest Catholic populations in the country.

Not Catholic? There remains green beer and delicious fried fish aplenty. No good? Check out the other options in this issue. They’re ecumenical!
