The average American spends nine and a half hours a day sitting. Combine that with an average of seven and a half hours of sleep, and you’ve set yourself up for a pretty sedentary lifestyle.
When you work a desk job, it can be hard to get the activity your body needs. That’s why desk exercise – or “deskercise” – can be so beneficial.
Here are ways to get started:
• Schedule 10-15 minutes for a walk.
• Take the stairs.
• Stretch.
These tips won’t make up for skipping the gym, but they’ll keep your body feeling loose, even after a long workday.
