August is National Immunization Awareness Month

by

National Immunization Awareness Month highlights the importance of vaccinations. Shots aren’t just for kids – a common misconception. Adults also need vaccines to protect themselves from serious illnesses.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, thousands of adults get sick from vaccine-preventable diseases yearly. At PA Health & Wellness, we encourage our neighbors to be proactive and raise awareness for summertime vaccinations.

Here’s what you can do this month:

• When your child is scheduled for a shot, get one too.

• Encourage friends and family to get a yearly flu shot.

• Speak with a doctor about the importance of vaccinations.
