Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S., impacting 1 in 4 people. In fact, it kills more women than all forms of cancer combined. However, unlike cancer, it’s easily preventable by changing simple health habits.
PA Health & Wellness is celebrating American Heart Month during February. On Feb. 1, we celebrated National Wear Red Day to raise awareness for women’s heart health. With thanks to the American Heart Association, here are seven ways to control your risk for heart disease:
• Get active.
• Control cholesterol.
• Eat better.
• Manage blood pressure.
• Lose weight.
• Reduce blood sugar.
• Stop smoking.
