Huzzah! Pittsburgh’s Renaissance Festival season begins August 18, running Saturdays and Sundays through September 23. Wander 16th-century streets, grab a turkey leg, cheer jousters, watch artisans create original works, enjoy medieval music and make merry.
The festival, located in West Newton, offers themed weekends focusing on everything from pirates to princesses (costumes are not required – but strongly encouraged). As for entertainment, there’s something for lords and ladies of all ages, including Celtic harpists and clever hypnotists.
Adult tickets cost $20.50, children ages 5-12 are $10, and children under five can attend the magical festivities for free.
