Janine Woods is new to the ‘Burgh, but that won’t stop her from leading the local YWCA, one of the oldest and largest multicultural women’s organizations in the world.
A nationally recognized nonprofit executive, Woods has spent her career serving as a “social entrepreneur.” From Kansas to the Carolinas and, most recently, Texas, Woods is no stranger to implementing life-changing programs and services for disenfranchised communities.
As a female African American leader, Woods will lead the YWCA mission: generating institutional change in racial justice, empowerment and economic advancement of women and girls, especially women of color.
