How to keep calm when the news tells you otherwise

keep calm

Studies show that the psychological effects of news can have a negative impact on our health – whether that’s through increased stress, anxiety or fear.

With the recent outbreak of coronavirus, among other alarming headlines at the start of 2020, it’s no surprise that panic levels are heightened. So to keep a positive outlook and look after your mental health:

1. Switch off: A lot of news is pure clickbait.

2. Know what you can control: The antidote to anxiety is action, so save the world in other ways. Recycle, volunteer, give to charity.

3. Talk: Different perspectives build a bigger and better picture.
