As the Pittsburgh region builds its worldwide connections, Pittsburgh International is preparing for a facelift. The airport was recently approved for a $1.1 billion modernization plan to accommodate a larger influx of passengers.
The plan features a new landside terminal, which will house airline support, baggage operations and ticketing, plus amenities. It will also include 51 gates and a six-story parking garage.
The airport recently opened its Airmall, the largest in the country, to shoppers. Did you know Pittsburgh International is the first U.S. airport since 9/11 to allow visitors past security without an airline ticket?
