by The 100 Companies

The Carnegie Library brims with opportunities for kids to celebrate Black culture and contributions:

Feb. 1 – In this class, kids will learn about Pittsburgh actor and fashionista Billy Porter and engage their own creativity by designing a red carpet look for a paper doll.

Feb. 7 – Children will learn about African Americans who impacted aviation and aerospace history, such as Bessie Coleman, the first African American and Native American woman to hold a pilot’s license.

Feb. 8 – Kids will create art and learn about Ghanian artist El Anatsu, who’s known for his tapestries made from bottle caps and copper wire.
