A scene of quarantined domestic bliss: the wife and I checked out the new movie “Happiest Season” on Hulu — pretty funny and set in Pittsburgh. And as the early scenes bounced around Lawrenceville, I got to thinking about some of my favorite Pittsburgh-set films:
• Groundhog Day: More Punxsutawney than Steel City, but Western Pa. trappings drape this modern fable.
• Jack Reacher: This Tom Cruise flick is better than remembered (and certainly tops the sequel).
• Sudden Death: It’s possibly the most Die Hardy of all “Die Hard” rip-offs. Van Damme’s tussle against a terrorist in a Penguin costume is simply legendary.
