Pittsburgh Polyphony: Benji’s here to brighten up your summer

Growing up in Homewood, rapper, singer and producer Benji. always had music around him. Now, he’s channeled it into being one of the most unique and promising acts coming out of Pittsburgh, from recently supporting rap group EarthGang on tour, being named to NPR’s “20 Artists To Watch in 2019” list to other accolades, including a shoutout from JuJu Smith-Schuster for his song “Tamale.”

He’s no one-trick-pony, either — his instrumental proficiency includes drums, guitar, bass, keys and even the flute. With an infectious energy and upbeat tunes perfect for summer, you’re sure to find a few playlist-adds from his catalog.
