Having already stretched beyond the borders of its name, 412 Food Rescue is doubling down on its efforts in the Pittsburgh region’s outer counties.
The nonprofit, which in the past five years has stopped more than 8 million pounds of food from going to waste and redirected it all to people in need, received a USDA grant. It will use the funds to increase service and identify food donors and partners in Westmoreland, Fayette, Butler, Beaver and Washington counties.
