Inside Pittsburgh Riverstone Bookstore

Long before online shopping killed chain book stores, independent book stores were in trouble (watch “You’ve Got Mail for a precursor of the literary Armageddon).

Pittsburgh’s Riverstone Books bucks the trend. Owner Barbara Jeremiah opened Riverstone at McCandless Crossing in October. Riverstone features a children’s section and a growing calendar of events. Tonight (January 18) at 6:30 p.m., Pittsburgh’s own psychological thriller author Rebecca Drake celebrates her newest title, “Just Between Us.” The event is free, with light refreshments.

Are you tired of your usual winter indoor hangouts? Try visiting a cozy corner at a local book shop.
