We can go all day, but the viral nature of disproven conspiracy theories and dangerous misinformation tells us that media literacy is lacking for many. Fortunately, colleges and K-12 educators are beginning to address the subject with their students.
Know someone a little older who’s posted a few too many untrue Facebook posts? Poynter Institute’s MediaWise is a nonprofit, nonpartisan project that includes resources to “empower people of all ages to be more critical consumers of content online.”
