Recycling can become overwhelming pretty quickly. To create a good recycling plan, start by finding out which type of items your recycling center accepts.
Keep in mind items such as plastic grocery bags, pizza boxes and greasy food boxes, shredded paper, receipts, ceramics and pottery, and some coffee cups are typically not accepted at most centers. You should also check if your center requires recyclables to be separated into different bins.
Items that almost always are recyclable include paper and cardboard, tin and aluminum cans, mail, phone books, magazines, office paper, ink cartridges and newspaper.
Remember: reduce, reuse and recycle.
