Great news for the environment and your wallet: Ugly produce is making its way downtown.

412 Food Rescue, an organization leading the effort to prevent viable food from entering the waste stream, is partnering with the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership to bring their recently expanded UglyCSA program to Downtown’s PG&H.

For $20 a week, consumers can pick up a box of “ugly” produce that didn’t sell for cosmetic reasons but is still perfectly good to use and eat. Subscribers in 2018 saved over 450,000 gallons of water from going to waste.

You can learn more about the program here.
