The season for poolside get-togethers with friends and family is quickly approaching, and with it the need for parents and caregivers to keep water safety top of mind.
Always remember:
• Water wings or floats shouldn’t be used as a substitution for supervision. Always designate a water watcher.
• Swim lessons can save your child’s life. Begin formal swim lessons before age 1 to reduce drowning risks.
• Learning CPR can be life-saving. If a child is not breathing, start CPR immediately to reduce long-term risks, rather than waiting for an ambulance. Take advantage of classes available in your area.
