Become a Pittsburgh Snow Angel for a neighbor

Pittsburgh Snow Angel

Few can deny the warm, fuzzy feeling that comes from giving to others – or the cold, miserable feeling of a snowy sidewalk. Pittsburgh offers a path to use the former to fix the latter.

Through the city’s Snow Angels program, volunteers are paired with disabled and elderly residents near them, and the volunteer agrees to help their neighbor shovel snow throughout the winter.

Here’s how it works:

• Sign up to volunteer on the Snow Angels website.

• Wait to be matched with a nearby neighbor.

• Shovel snow for your neighbor after bad weather.

• You get lucky and make a new friend.
