The 2017 LearnVest Money Habits and Confessions Survey revealed 74 percent of respondents took on debt for vacation, a whopping $1,108 on average.
Don’t let summer creep up on you. Here are three ways to start planning:
1. Set an airfare price alert on Google Flights or Hopper. Domestic airfare is usually cheapest on the Tuesday afternoon two months before departure.
2. Follow airlines and hotels on social media. Many offer the lowest rates and use social media to announce sudden deals.
3. Set up a vacation fund jar. A fun reminder that vacation is just around the corner.
