The holidays are all about family. But what if you’re a child without family? The Ward Home, a local nonprofit founded in 1905, gives foster children aged 16 to 21 a reason to be hopeful for their future.
The Ward Home offers supervised, independent living for older foster children. These young men and women, on the verge of adulthood, learn important life skills that enable them to become happy, productive citizens.
The My Best Self program, launched with help from Allegheny County, provides education on everything from budgeting to grocery shopping and resume writing, building self-esteem as a result.
