Pittsburgh Polyphony: The Zells let loose with ‘No More Heroes’

The Zells Pittsburgh

With their newest record, “No More Heroes,” released Oct. 11, The Zells bring a slightly less refined sound than 2018’s “Failure to Slide” – but that was their plan.

The five-piece rock outfit, a member of Crafted Sounds alongside formerly featured Flower Crown, has a sound practically made for basement mosh pits, and the ’90s garage rock-inspired anthems make you feel like you’re right there with them. Lo-fi production is accented by stereo-filling guitar riffs, while thunderous drums lay the foundation of your listening experience.

In short, The Zells are fabulous, meticulous chaos. See them live in Pittsburgh Nov. 19.
