“Roma,” the black-and-white story of life in Mexico City, is the first film distributed by the streaming giant with a best picture nod. Does this presage an end to the traditional moviegoing experience?
On Netflix’s side, Alfonso Cuarón, nominated for his direction and original screenplay, said “Roma” wouldn’t have received as much attention without the streaming service.
Still, sitting in front of the big screen is special – even at almost twice the price of a month of Netflix.
