Rethinking holiday expectations (and eradicating exhaustion in the process)

by The 100 Companies

To celebrate Thanksgiving, my vegetarian teens and I opted to nosh on Indian take-out (in lieu of cooking and cleaning up after turkey with all the trimmings) and focus on spending quality time together.

For Christmas, rather than more stuff under the tree, I’ll be supporting my kiddos’ respective school-sponsored travel opportunities that otherwise fall outside of my single-parent budget. A sucker for stockings, my kids’ will be brimming with useful stuff – like a gift card to the barber near campus for my college student and another to the feed store for my backyard hen aficionado.

Cheers to new traditions.
