by The 100 Companies

Kelley Costa had settled into corporate accounting work for a decade when she was hit with the “surprise of a lifetime.” Multiple brain aneurysms followed by brain surgery. Kelley’s parents owned two ice cream stands and she decided to follow their lead, opening Churn in three locations, most recently, Pittsburgh’s Southside.

Her goal: to combine hand-crafted ice cream with community and a dose of invention… chocolate-dipped potato chip or ketchup ice cream, anyone?
