Walt Whitman

Be curious, not judgmental,” is a great line from the first season of Apple TV’s Ted Lasso series. It’s also great advice for our turbulent, confrontational times.

If only more of us brought that spirit to conversations around COVID-19 and other issues. The quote is often attributed to the great American poet Walt Whitman, giving it credibility and heft.

Shocker: Whitman never wrote or uttered those words. It’s unclear who did, even to Whitman scholars.

While Whitman may not have shared these words, they are no less valid.
