In the U.S., women represent fewer than a third of elected officials. Erin Loos Cutraro – founder and CEO of She Should Run – plans to change that number. The national, nonpartisan, nonprofit’s goal is to inspire 250,000 women to take their first steps toward public leadership roles by 2030.
The organization has released results of a new study that found most women are motivated by issues that impact their day-to-day lives, such as the economy, climate change, reproductive health, racism and gun violence.
Women are also more likely to run if they have a big support system from people they trust.
