Looking for lessons in media literacy?

Maybe you can tell fact from fiction when it comes to what you see online, but can your kids? Your parents? Grandparents?

We can go all day, but the viral nature of disproven conspiracy theories and dangerous misinformation tells us that media literacy is lacking for many. Fortunately, colleges and K-12 educators are beginning to address the subject with their students.

Know someone a little older who’s posted a few too many untrue Facebook posts? Poynter Institute’s MediaWise is a nonprofit, nonpartisan project that includes resources to “empower people of all ages to be more critical consumers of content online.”
