Bringing Tennessee soul to the Paris of Appalachia

Bonnie and the Mere Mortals

It’s not often that Southern Gothic makes its way through Pittsburgh, but when it does, it truly stands out. Acoustic guitars and banjos lay the backdrop for records of lost love and yearning souls for Bonnie and the Mere Mortals, whose debut EP “Tennessee” released last summer.

Led by Avella native Bonnie Ramone, an infusion of Appalachian roots and the soul of the South help deliver visceral punches ranging from acoustic ballads to anthems backed by thumping bass and electric guitars.

Be sure to check out their Facebook and look out for their new single, “Curses,” set to release soon.
