It wasn’t long ago that if you didn’t have a quarter or two on you, you were going to risk wrath of the meter maids.

Today, it’s easier getting around cashless. Go Mobile PGH lets you to pay for street parking from your phone, allowing you to avoid that feed-the-meter anxiety.

Even riding the bus might get simpler for those tired of digging for coins or cards, with the Port Authority recently debuting the wearable ConnectBand through a pilot program.

Parking and PAT buses don’t have much in common, but they’re each slowly undergoing reinventions – and Pittsburghers benefit.
