While 2020 has likely offered more “trick” than “treat,” the near century-old celebration of handing out Halloween candy will go on in Pittsburgh this year, albeit with some COVID-friendly stipulations. With parents and kids alike cooped up this school year, trick-or-treating should come as a welcome reminder of normalcy for everyone.
Here are the precautions the city is advocating:
• Trick-or-treat only with family members
• Wear cloth face masks, as well as Halloween masks
• Carry hand sanitizer
• Distribute candy by leaving it outside (no face-to-face interaction)
• Follow social distancing on sidewalks and when approaching homes
• Do not attend indoor costume parties
