There’s a new member of the Stefano household. She’s got brown hair, black stripes, a white belly and a stub of a tail (by genetics, not bad luck … we think).
Paisley, our nine-year-old American bobtail (maybe she’s a Manx?), was adopted through Pittsburgh CAT (Cat Adoption Team). The volunteer group rescues, fosters and finds homes for stray or abandoned cats, doing the important work to save animals in need.
The experience reminded me how fulfilling pet adoption is. I won’t begrudge someone going to a breeder – all pets need a home, after all – but some animals need extra help.
