As we say goodbye to turbulent March, we hope for a better spring and note March sports milestones from the Pirates, past and present.
While the Penguins skate toward the playoffs, the city’s original NHL team, the Pirates, left the ice for good in March 1930. The best present our baseball Pirates have given us since 2001, PNC Park, turns 18 on March 31. Is it fitting that the home opener is April 1 this season?
