Ballet dancer perform "The Nutcracker" at the Pittsburgh Theatre

Since 1892, “The Nutcracker” has been delighting audiences all over the world. So how does the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre make Tchaikovsky’s most memorable work its own? By adding a distinctive Pittsburgh flair.

“The Nutcracker” 2017 at the Benedum Center isn’t set in Russia – it’s set in Shadyside, around the turn of the century – but don’t be too disappointed if it doesn’t resemble the Shadyside you know and love today!

The play also incorporates many Pittsburgh landmarks and historical figures, along with the usual winter magic. For a complete list of December show times, visit the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre website.
