An Uncommon Band Breaks Out

by

The Commonheart may only be three years old, but when the powerful soul ensemble counts to 10 (including its horns, guitarists and singers), it’s a tour de force. Clinton Clegg, Commonheart’s dynamic frontman and a commanding stage presence, notes that “Pittsburgh has a rich history of cultivating art and music, and that development continues today.

“As the region continues to be a tour destination for the largest acts in the country,” Clegg adds, “a strong scene follows.” The Commonheart now has national tour dates, as well as a hometown New Year’s Eve show at Mr. Smalls Theatre on December 31.
